ZITF concept for kadoma

I’ve been staring at the calendar, and the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) is already looming large. For me, ZITF isn’t just about brochures and bowl-of-sweets networking; it’s a theater. It’s a chance to tell a story that changes how people see a place. So, I started obsessing over Kadoma.

When people think of Kadoma, their minds go straight to the “City of Gold.” It’s an easy association, but it’s also a narrow one. I wanted to design a stand that honors that heritage while literally “unearthing” everything else the city has to offer.

The Concept: The Living Mineshaft

Imagine walking through the ZITF halls and seeing a massive, rugged cave structure. It’s dark, textured, and imposing—a hyper-realistic mineshaft entrance. Across the top, giant block letters that look like they were carved directly out of the rock face spell out KADOMA.

But here is where the storytelling starts. Inside the cave, it’s not just a hollow space. We have African mannequins in dynamic, frozen poses—miners with pickaxes and drills, mid-swing against the cave walls.

The “Aha!” Moment

As these “miners” strike the rock, they aren’t revealing more stone. They are unearthing giant, high-definition screens embedded deep within the walls.

The visual metaphor is simple: Mining is the gateway, but the treasure is the community. As you walk through this immersive cave, the screens revealed by the miners showcase the “hidden gems”:

  • Tourism & Historic Sites: The stories and landmarks that give the city its soul.
  • Agriculture: The sprawling farms that feed the region.
  • The Arts & Rural Communities: The vibrant culture and the people who make Kadoma a home, not just a workplace.
  • Investment & Real Estate: Showing that there is literal and figurative ground to be broken for those looking to build a future.

More Than Gold

The goal is to invite people to stop looking at Kadoma as just a pit stop on the highway or a mining town, and start seeing it as a destination. Whether you are looking for an investment area, a new piece of real estate, or a unique tourism experience, we want to show you that there is a wealth of opportunity if you’re willing to look beneath the surface.

In Kadoma, we’re still mining—but these days, we’re mining for progress, for art, and for a new way of living.
